DICHOTOMIC KEY OF SUBGENERA OF BOMBINAE - The dichotomic key has been compiled employing the most evident morphological characters, of sure diagnostic value present in the head, and in particular in the mandibles, in the legs, in the last metasomal segment and in the male genitalia . For every subgenus the species present in Italy are indicated. Concerning the taxonomic question about the rank of Bombus and Psithyrus , we have chosen to continue giving the name of genus to both the taxa , exentially for greater convenience in the compilation of the dichotomic key, according to the strong morphological differences present between the various groups.
